ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I'm an Iranian science geek from Tehran, interested in different theoretical aspects of Data Analysis and its applications in Health Care, Social Network Analysis, Bioinformatics and Analysis of Time-Series.  My current focus is on the analysis of graphs and complex networks from theoretical point of view and its applications in analysis of social networks and brain connectivity.

In the past I also did some projects on Signal/Image Processing, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing and Neural Information Processing in both academia and industry.

I'm interested to learn more about theoretical Math and Physics (Algebraic Geometry, Algebraic Statistics, Quantum Mechanics and Statistical Mechanics) and also philosophy and history of science.

During last 5 years I've been doing research at Fraunhofer IAIS (Sankt Augustin), Leibniz Institute (Cologne), Signal processing Lab at University of Bonn and also Nabrai LLC (Tehran).

Currently I work at geophysics department and Center of Complex Systems at University of Cologne where I study statistical patterns in EEG and LFP data recorded from Parkinson patients.

My free time is mostly dedicated to art (watching independent movies and reading about cinema), literature (I enjoy reading and writing a lot), playing and watching football, and following news on the web.
